Lindsey Lohan's recent arrival in the LA prison system has created a lot of media attention. Stories all over the web detail her life in prison, discuss her mood, and quickly report any perceived special treatment. Though much of it is very sensationalized.
In general Lindsey received 51 days in prison. Because she is a non-violent female offender in an overcrowded prison system she is expected to serve only 25% of this sentence, as this is the norm for non-violent female offenders in overcrowded prisons regardless of social standing. This means she will probably spend roughly a week in prison, definitely not worth committing suicide over as she was reported to be contemplating before detainment.
Lindsey was not only showered with glittered confetti, according to reporters, as she walked into the prison doors earlier this week, but she is also receiving care packages. Fans and friends alike have apparently begin to send in hords of care packages to help Lindsey through her week long ordeal.
On a rather funny note from the media, Lindsey's jail mate is reportedly Alexis Neiers, who made headlines for breaking into celebrity homes earlier this year. One of those homes, being Lohan's very own.
